The American Legion Auxiliary is a remarkable organization with dedicated women across the Country devoted to America's veterans, young people and communities.
The women of the American Legion Auxiliary make a difference in the lives of all Americans. They educate children, organize community events and help our Nation's veterans through legislative action and volunteerism. The American Legion Auxiliary is the world's largest women's patriotic service organization with nearly 1 million members in 10,100 communities. Auxiliary members are a unique group of women, joined in the fellowhip of volunteerism, patriotism and dedication to veterans, young people and communities
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 478 applied for and received it's charter in 2009. Although we are just beginning, we are dedicated to helping Post 478, all veterans and our community. Please check back often for updates on the Auxiliary activities.
Who can join the Auxiliary? ----
Q: I am related to someone who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibilty dates. Can I join the Auxiliary of The American Legion?
A: If your relative who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibility dates and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the American Legion Auxiliary of The American Legion.
However, if the qualifying veteran is deceased you may join the appropriate organization, even if the qualifying veteran was not a member of The American Legion when living.
